As a graduate of Counselling and Psychotherapy, I offer clients an extensive theoretical knowledge of Counselling and Psychology, along with practical experience in supporting young Indigenous children in residential support, family carers and school chaplaincy. I furthered my education in Philosophy and Family History. Previous roles were held with Carers SA, Schools Ministry Group and Carers and Disability Link. These organisations offered opportunities in Family Carer Advocacy, supporting young people in school, practical support and advocacy with NDIS Disability clients of all ages. I was privileged to engage with positive connections of State and Federal Government to advocate for young people.

Using a Person-Centred approach, I invite clients to share their stories and collaborate with me to reveal what the presenting issues are. I trained in Trauma-Informed and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as Systemic Family Therapy used in Couples Counselling. Mindful of the significance of links between childhood trauma and its effect on the here and now, I partner with my clients to explore the most effective approach to promote clarity and find holistic ways for positive change.

I have a keen interest in Personality Psychology and a Strengths-based approach. Utilising these interventions in the counselling space creates opportunities for clients to discover their “inner self” and may assist in creating positive change, enhance relationship issues and clarity around personal motivation and responses in everyday life. Supporting young people in a public-school setting, I am discovering a theme of fractured relationships in families, that is contributing to young people’s daily stress. Working with families to assist with open communication and focusing on solutions is an area I am continuing to expand in. My experience also includes coordinating services and supporting disability clients with NDIS plans and working alongside young people with NDIS funding in school and home settings.
